7 November Read Alouds for Dual Language Classrooms

November is such a special month in the classroom — filled with themes of family, gratitude, and celebration. It’s also a wonderful time to bring stories that honor cultural traditions and thankfulness into your dual language classroom.

#1 – Mi familia celebra el Día de los Muertos by Camila Hernández

Start the month by celebrating Día de los Muertos with this beautifully illustrated story. Students will learn how one family honors their loved ones through traditions like making ofrendas, baking pan de muerto, and decorating with marigolds. It’s a wonderful way to introduce cultural vocabulary and talk about family heritage.
